Gunnar: Adventure Program Manager & Leadership Lab Director

Jordan: Adventure Outpost Director

Gunnar and Jordan Koehn, a mission-minded couple with a long Fort-history, accepted the call and joined Fort Staff in 2022. Their first summer they co-led the youth camps at Adventure Outpost. Now, Gunnar is leading the new program Journey Beyond while Jordan continues leading Adventure Outpost.

Jordan has Fort experience as a counselor and program director on the Adventure Outpost staff and taught 4th grade in Milwaukee serving under privileged neighborhoods.

Gunnar was in TruNorth (2017-2018) and then became our Retail Manager (CampGrounds / Canteen) for two years before working as a Production General Manager for Stone Creek in Milwaukee.

Fast Facts

As a couple, they share a love for seeing God impact lives through camp.

Fort Firsts

Jordan and Gunnar first met in the Northwoods of Wisconsin at Fort Wilderness in the summer of 2019. That was also Jordan’s very first summer at Fort Wilderness ever. Since then, they have gone on to move to Milwaukee, get married and move back to the Northwoods!

What passage of scripture is meangingful to your family? Psalms 23: It is such an encouraging reminder that the Lord is our Shepherd and that He is always a place of refuge when times are hard. Our Shepherd takes care of us!

What is your favorite Fort memory? Our favorite Fort memory is when Gunnar and I (Jordan) led a camping trip up to the UP with about 25 campers & staff. It was so fun and a joy to lead together. It was the summer that we first met, and it was how we learned that we worked well together as a team!

If you were a kitchen utensil, what would you be and why? Jordan: I would be a whisk because I like to mix things up and bring people together.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? Gunnar: I would have the power of flight- it would be so cool to be able to travel so many places so quickly and easily whenever I wanted!
