Accommodations Head

Adventure Program Assistant

Creating opportunities of connection through preparing, implementing and leading wilderness adventure trips. Facilitating a safe environment for adults and children while operating in a wilderness/backcountry setting. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

AO Assistant Cook

Helps provide delicious food so the kids are fed well and removes distraction to hear the Gospel. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

AO Dish Crew

Creates an environment for kids to learn to serve as Christ and provide clean dishes for our meals. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

AO Medical Support Manager

Oversees all health and safety for the campers, providing a safe environment to hear the Gospel. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

AO Program Maintenance

Assistant AO Program Director

18+

Oversees the mentoring and support of Adventure Outpost staff to serve the campers well and show them Christ. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

Building Maintenance Coordinator

Fort’s buildings have quality and intentionality. This position oversees the scheduling and implementation of the preventative and routine maintenance plan for over fifty structures on Fort’s three sites.

Canteen Head

Leads a team of volunteers in an upbeat, joyful atmosphere serving campers pristine ice cream and selling Fort attire with a smile! Our mission is to encourage families to engage and create memories together, and we accomplish this by fostering a fun environment and serving in a Christ-like manner. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Children’s Ministry Head

Teaches and demonstrates Biblical principles to young family campers at an age-appropriate level for them to learn about and love God. Staff are hired for this position based on the age level they will lead: nursery, 3-5 year olds, 1st-2nd grade, and 3rd-4th grade. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Climbing Tower Head

18+

Oversees the safety of the climbing tower and manages the climbing team with Christ-like humility. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Coffee Shop Head

Leads a team of volunteers in a fun, fast-paced, relational environment ensuring that campers are served with excellence in every aspect and kept caffeinated during their week at camp. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Construction Superintendent

This position will engage all facets of the construction process, including developing work plans, material procurement, scheduling, subcontractor supervision and volunteer labor coordination and management. Experience putting work in place as a tradesman and carpentry skills are highly valued.

Craft Shop Head

Leads the Craft Shop team in fostering a fun and imaginative space for campers to enjoy the likeness of our Creator through arts and crafts in fellowship with others. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Dish Crew Head

Creates a fun, fast-paced, and relational environment for the team of volunteers in the dish room, in order to reduce distractions so families can connect with God and His creation during their time at camp. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Fleet Coordinator

If it has wheels or a motor on it here at Fort, this position manages, maintains, and schedules it – nearly 40 vehicles! This position will also involve a fair bit of driving campers to where they need to go and back again.

Head Wrangler

Co-leads at the Stables to enable campers to experience God through His Creation, His Word, adventure programs and relationships. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

Kitchen Specialist

Support the Food Services Manager and Chef in the preparing and serving of meals to campers. Lead and develop relationships with staff and volunteers as you work to create tasty dishes!

LAB Assistant Cook

Oversees the presentation and functionality of the outdoor facilities so that campers can utilize and enjoy them in a safe, distraction-free manner. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Marketing Assistant

God uses Fort to impact lives for eternity. Marketing staff capture great photos and videos, thus inspiring even more campers, donors and prayer warriors to stay connected. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Nature Center Instuctor

Educates campers about creation, to facilitate moments of connection with God and inspire a commitment to care for creation. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

Older Wiser Loving Saints (OWLS)

Retired? Have a passion to serve families and kids? Looking for a place to make a difference? At Fort, we call people like that OWLS— older, wiser, loving saints. If this is you, we have a place for you to serve.

Program Team

Allows campers to enjoy God’s creation and experience a fun week at camp by providing a variety of program activities. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Project Serve Volunteer

Project Serve volunteers ensure fall and winter weekend retreats run smoothly. Families, youth groups, young adults, and other groups volunteer their time (normally a Friday into Sunday) to serve in all areas at Fort. And they enjoy camp at the same time!

Resident Assistant (R.A.)

Shepherds and mentors the summer leaders and volunteers to support them in their spiritual/personal growth and to equip them to serve campers well and show them Christ. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

Riflery Head

18+

Oversees the safety of and manages the .22 rifle range with a Christ-like attitude. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Skilled Trades Volunteer

Do you work in a trade like carpentry, construction, concrete, painting or others? Would you be willing to share those skills with Fort for a weekend, or longer? Some come alone, others with a crew!

Staff Assistant

21+

Shepherds and mentors the summer staff community alongside the Resident Assistants and supports the whole summer team through administrative work. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

Summer Staff Coordinator

80+ Summer Staff are hired each year to deliver all of Fort’s summer camps and programming. The Summer Staff Coordinator ensures summer staff hires are qualified, trained, and aligned with Fort’s mission and vision and works to be sure they are well supported and cared for. An important and impactful part of the ministry at Fort!

Summer Volunteer

While summer staff stay through the full summer, summer volunteers give two weeks or more of their time to help support Fort’s ministry.

TruNorth Director

Are you passionate about college-aged students and discipleship? The TruNorth Director leads up to 12 students, ages 18-22 years old as they discover their purpose and develop leadership skills during this 11-month discipleship program.

Volunteer Assistant

Shepherds and mentors the volunteers to support them in their spiritual/personal growth, equipping them to serve campers well and represent Christ. Serves from May 22-August 16, 2023.

Waterfront Head

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the waterfront and leads the lifeguard team with Christ-like humility. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.

Worship & AV Manager

The Worship & AV Manager leads and guides the worship experience at Fort Wilderness optimizing the Amphitheater and Gathering Place venues. You will be directing audio/visual needs for camp activities, designing worship experiences that creatively extend worship to optimize the nature setting of Fort, while preparing hearts to hear God’s word.

Worship Leader

Leads campers and staff in worship through music to praise God and prepare hearts to hear the teaching of His Word. Serves from May 27-August 16, 2023.
