Greetings from Fort Wilderness!
Welcome to Junior High Camp! We are looking forward to an incredible week of camp! As you prepare, there are a few things we wanted to share with you:
The week will include lots of outdoor adventures, time spent in community, and fun, memory making experiences. Our prayer is that this will be a spiritually impactful time of growth and discipleship. We have a great staff team lined up this year, and we can’t wait to get to know you!
At Junior High Camp, you will be an important part of a small group of campers that will enjoy slowing down, building relationships, and engaging in small group time.
Billy and Laura Borkenhagen serve on staff at Fort Wilderness. They joined the team five years ago after moving from the Milwaukee area. Billy is an architect who has designed many of the new buildings around camp and Laura works in marketing. In addition to their professional roles, Billy and Laura are deeply involved in ministry. Billy is a bible teacher with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), and Laura previously served as a BSF leader.
They are passionate about helping others explore God’s Word—understanding who God is and why that matters in each person’s life. Billy and Laura have been married for 17 years and have three wonderful children, one dog, and more fish than they can count.
The theme for 2026 is YHWH: The God Who Is.
We do not have a theme verse because all of God’s Word – from beginning to end – is revealing who God is. This theme is meant to help campers return to a foundational understanding of who God is.
A few things to note:
Check in for Junior High Camp will be at Fort’s Main Site between 2PM and 4PM. Fort’s address is 6180 Wilderness Trail, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Our staff will be there to greet you. We’ll transport your teen to the Lab Site from there. Please make sure that all your camper’s registration materials, Health History form & Risk form, fees, and insurance information are completed online as soon as possible. Your teen will also have to turn in any medications at check-in.
Pick up will be at the Lab Site on Friday between 9:30-10:30 AM. Remember an I.D. will be required. Set your GPS to Timber Range Road, Rhinelander WI, 54501. Once you turn onto the road, you’ll see a sign and staff waiting to greet you.
