Life slows, faith grows!
As we write, much of the U.S. just came through a major winter storm. Record-breaking cold and heavy snowfall unexpectedly canceled schools and closed businesses. Even here in the Northwoods, where snow and freezing temperatures are familiar, this cold was a real doozy.
Winter storms have a way of slowing us down: upending plans, forcing pauses, and inviting us to breathe. Sometimes, those pauses are exactly what we need. Isaiah 30:15 reminds us, “In quietness and trust is your strength.”
What if this year, instead of rushing through the noise, you gave yourself space to rest, reflect, and notice God at work in your life? Any interruption to our daily routine, planned or unexpected, can serve as a powerful reset and help us refocus on what matters.
“Christ is my foundation now…” A TruNorth story
Originally from Washington State, Vivian Hudson came to TruNorth this fall looking for a space to grow in her faith and step away from outside expectations. What she found was a year that has helped reshape how she sees God – and herself. “Christ is literally my foundation now,” Vivian says. “I’m learning who I am and what God says about me.”
Through life-on-life discipleship and living in community, Vivian says she’s learned to see others through God’s eyes. “Being welcomed into staff families’ homes and sharing everyday moments: meals, conversations, laughter, and even conflict, has demonstrated grace and truth walked out in every day tangible ways,” Vivian shared.
If you’re longing for a year that grounds your faith, clarifies who you are in Christ, and surrounds you with Christ-centered community, TruNorth might be your next step. Applications are open – come discover the foundation God wants to build in you!

*Adventure Lodging offers a rustic feel and will be located close to our shared bathroom facilities. Campers will need to provide their own bedding.
As we move through this new year, may you find moments of stillness to pause, breathe, and trust in God’s presence. Whether it’s in the quiet of your own home, a year of growth at TruNorth, or a family adventure at Fort, God meets us as we step away from the noise.
As we began in Isaiah 30:15, “In quietness and trust is your strength.”
Take time to rest and be strengthened in Him, and let this winter be a season of reflection, connection, and renewal!
