Four things for Fall… Here at Fort!
With summer wrapping up, school back in session, and the Northwoods air carrying that unmistakable hint of fall, it’s clear we’re turning the page on a new season. September brings fresh rhythms and new opportunities, and we’d love to keep you in the loop with a few reminders and updates you won’t want to miss.

Our full-time & summer staff are busy getting everything ready for you!
1. Still room for some Fall Retreats (but time is running out)!
At Fort, fall isn’t just a change of season; it’s a chance to step away from the busyness of life and lean into what God has for you. Our fall retreats are designed to create space for rest, renewal, and connection with Him and with others (and eat well)!
This season, we invite you to join us for:
- Men’s Retreats: September 11–14 (with Troy Loether) or October 16–19 (with Steve Sonderman)
- Relate Well Marriage Conference (with Dr. Rick Marks): November 7–9
Whether it’s strengthening your walk with the Lord, deepening your marriage, or simply pausing to catch your breath, these retreats are opportunities to encounter God in fresh ways.

2. Registration is OPEN for Winter Family Getaways!
What if the week after Christmas became your family’s favorite tradition?
Instead of the post-holiday lull, picture your crew in a Northwoods winter wonderland: tubing down snowy hills, skating and broomball under the lights, cross-country skiing through the pines, and gathering around hearty Fort meals that warm the soul.
Add in engaging teaching from God’s Word, fellowship with other families, and a steaming cup from CampGrounds Coffee, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for memories that last long after the snow melts.
Spots fill quickly, so act today and make this the year your family celebrates winter together at Fort!

3. Giving through our new donation software is LIVE
You may notice our giving page looks a little different! We’ve upgraded to a new donation system to make giving to Fort Wilderness simpler, faster, and more seamless. Our hope is that this new platform will be easy to use and provide you with a smooth experience from start to finish.
Even as active fundraising for the Fort Future campaign is on hold, God is still sustaining His work through your generosity. Every gift reflects His provision and fuels the ministry happening here at Fort. We invite you to be part of what He is doing through our Trailblazer Fund, Servant’s Fund, or supporting one of our Missionaries. Thank you for trusting the Lord with us in this season!

4. God is on the move here at Fort all year round!
We are overflowing with gratitude for all God did this summer – children meeting Jesus for the first time, hearts rekindled with a hunger for His Word, marriages renewed, and 35 campers boldly declaring their faith in baptism at Spider Lake. None of this is our doing; it is the Lord’s work alone, and we are humbled to witness it all firsthand!
As we step into a new season, we celebrate with confidence that His work continues every single day. Seasons change, but His Word and His promises stand forever.
“The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.” – Isaiah 40:8
For the Fort Team,
Heather
P.S. Mark your calendars! Summer Staff applications open October 1, and Youth Camp registration opens October 15. We’re already praying expectantly for a fruitful season of ministry for Summer 2026!
P.P.S. Last month, we asked for your stories of how you’ve seen the Lord at work here at Fort these last 70 years, and we have been so encouraged by the stories you’ve shared. Still have a story to share? We’d love to hear from you here!
