Faithful Season of Ministry: Thank You, Moss Family
A note from Todd Leyden, Executive Director
God speaks through His timing
“Great is the Lord, and most worthy to be praised, His greatness no one can fathom.” Psalm 145:3
In June 2020, the pandemic was upon us, and Kurtis and Carrie Moss were contemplating what to do. As sent missionaries to a war-torn Nicaragua, they were unable to return. That summer they attended Zionsville Fellowship’s (ZF) week of Family Camp. With the door closed to serving in Nicaragua during the pandemic, the door opened to serving at Fort. Their week at camp turned into a series of discussions and conversations, and within three months they joined full-time missionary staff.
Carrie joined staff as the Summer Staff and Volunteer Coordinator and served until 2023. While in that role she recommended splitting the role into two distinct jobs to better serve the Fort Family. Kurtis began leading Student Ministries and Retail (Campgrounds and Canteen). Their contributions to Fort’s ministry were significant.
Kurtis brought his curiosity, love for people and thirst for ministering to young people, helping expand our Student Ministries and Retail programs in many ways. He challenged all of us, to consider the “why” behind everything we do.
Countless lives impacted… now and for years to come
The Moss family, including their children Evie, Kohen and Myles will return to Indiana at the end of July to be near family and long-standing community. Please pray for the Moss family as they end this season of ministry and get re-established back home. They are a gifted couple who will impact lives for Christ wherever they are called to serve. We have a gifted and established student ministries team who will fulfill Kurtis’s role serving and supporting youth campers. His retail responsibilities will shift to marketing and the business office.
Please join me in thanking Kurtis and Carrie for their immeasurable contributions to Fort Wilderness.
Eternally grateful for your partnership,
Todd
