Project Details
Since the founding of Fort, archery and .22 shooting in a secluded location at Main Camp have welcomed campers of all ages and skill levels. In the 1970s, camp introduced clay target shooting on an 80-acre tract of land a mile down the road, now known as Stockade 80. Over the years, the fun expanded as thousands have learned how to shoot or sharpen their skills in marksmanship while bonding together in this unique sport.
This adventure appeals to many of all ages and skill levels, thanks to the program’s legacy of providing quality instruction, supervision, and remarkable leaders. Stockade’s 80’s renovation introduced clay pigeon fields, catering to beginners and experts alike, complete with throwers and fully-bermed 50 and 200-yard target shooting ranges.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Fort Friends and family campers from the summer of 2022, this construction project was made possible! The project was fully funded, keeping with Fort’s policy to fund the project before you build.
